Vegan Ranch Dressing

Vegan Ranch Dressing: Easy all purpose salad dressing or sauce. We love it on salads, steamed veggies, in tacos, on lentil patties. It will even stand in as a stir fry, hollandaise, or pasta sauce.

Make it a thick, rich sauce by replacing non-dairy milk with more vegan mayo, or silken tofu. Thin it with more non-dairy milk to make it a more pourable dressing.

This vegan saucey dressing is a big recipe, and keeps well in the fridge, ready to perform more culinary magic.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup cup almond or soy milk (plain, unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/2 pkg silken tofu (extra firm preferred but not required), drained and rinsed
  • Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon
  • 1 Tbsp agave or maple syrup or sugar
  • Optional: 1 - 2 cloves fresh minced garlic or 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Optional: 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • Optional: 1 Tbsp mellow white miso
  • 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves OR 1 tsp dried basil leaf
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme leaf
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano leaf
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients except herbs to a blender and blend until smooth
  2. Add minced parsley, dried herbs, salt & pepper and blend mixed
  3. Thin with more milk as needed to your desired consistency
  4. Transfer the rest of the dressing to a covered container and refrigerate. Use within 3 days

Recipe Tips:

Garlic is optional in this recipe because I'm not a fan of raw garlic. Add as much garlic as YOU like!

Make this dressing low fat by using all silken tofu and no mayonnaise. It will not be as creamy though.

With 1/4 cup almond or soy milk, this is a thick dressing. It's easily made thinner by adding more non-dairy milk.
