Baked Tofu With Tahini Sauce

We've adapted baked tofu with tahini sauce to our taste, making it saltier and spicier than the original recipe.

Baked tofu with tahini sauce is one of the easiest tofu recipes you can make, plus one of the most useful - and delicious! The sauce makes it an ideal partner to cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes at a holiday meal. Baked Tofu Tahini also makes an ideal sandwich or burger filling. Or it can be the easy protein side in a simple meal of brown rice and steamed veggies.

Once cooked, baked tofu with tahini sauce will keep well tightly covered in the fridge for a few days.


Ingredients:

  • 1 lb extra firm tofu
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 - 4 Tbsp liquid Seasoning like Braggs Liquid Aminos or Tamari soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Oil a flat baking pan or dish
  3. Cut tofu into 1/4 - 1/2 inch slices
  4. Place in the pan so that the slices overlap
  5. Mix the sauce ingredients in a bowl until it is a cream like consistency
  6. Add a little water to thin if needed
  7. Pour mixture over tofu and bake until lightly golden - about 20 minutes
